Fire Protection Permit Scheme Industry Advisory Group
The Fire Protection Permit Scheme Industry Advisory Group (FPPSIAG) has been created by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment, and Water (DCCEW) to facilitate collaborative and sustainable fire protection industry permit scheme developments.
This group will replace the previous Industry Advisory Board (IAB), with many of its members continuing on to the FPPSIAG.
The role of the FPPSIAG is to provide expert advice to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water on a range of fire protection permit scheme issues and enhancement projects to support the scheme towards regulatory maturity prior to the commencement of Environment Protection Australia (EPA).
The FPPSIAG will work as a collaborative group to provide information and expert advice to the department, to inform its administration of the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gases permit scheme.
The FPPSIAG will provide advice on several topics, including:
- improvements or changes to permit and training requirements to reduce the risk of emissions of ozone depleting substances (ODS) and synthetic greenhouse gases (SGG)
- proposed regulatory changes and possible industry implications
- industry trends and developments
- introducing alternative gases or equipment used in the Australian industry.
